Shortly after joining Foxglove, the company planned to launch Foxglove 2.0, a major launch that included merging two platforms, updating pricing, and changing the company's previously open source strategy.
I led a team across product, sales, marketing, and engineering to accomplish the following:
- Launched the company's first successful beta to ensure a smooth GA ahead of shipping the merged platforms
- Developed positioning around the new pricing tiers, aligning a broader range of options with the lifecycle of startups in the industry
- Constructed a highly sensitive narrative around the controversial decision to close-source the platform, tying in positioning with an existing open source tool and the greater good of the product
For reasons mentioned above, this was a sensitive launch with high-level implications for Foxglove. By aligning narratives with the needs of customers and using the beta launch as a business development opportunity, our team was able to turn this launch into a successful pivot, leading to an increase in user signups in the months following.
